Volunteering is a great way to get started, get appreciated, and get hired. Summer internships or pre-professional programs often lead to permanent jobs. They are excellent resume builders. You can consult national internship webpages, do a summer internship with a university, work for one of Tennessee’ state parks, or apply closer to home.
