The Department of Biological Sciences provides a diverse, rigorous program with a curriculum designed to produce scientifically literate majors and non-majors knowledgeable in contemporary issues in biology. The department offers many experimental learning opportunities for students to have research collaboration with their professors. We strive to prepare our students for postgraduate studies and careers in the life sciences and health professions. This department has three concentrations of study within the major to seek the academic needs for each student, while also allowing a minor. Once completing this degree students will be able to seek careers knowing about fundamental elements of biology and ecology, concepts of genetics and evolution in biological diversity, and applying the scientific process to natural phenomena.
