What is Student Learning & Licensure?

Student Learning & Licensure (SLL) by Watermark is an online data collection and assessment system hat measures outcomes‐based learning goals and objectives for accreditation and continuous improvement. Within Student Learning & Licensure, education students maintain a collection of their work and expand their use of technology. By incorporating this online platform into UT Martin’s Educator Preparation Program (EPP), students can complete course assignments, submit program assessments, review professor feedback, and create unique lesson plans online. Students can track field experiences and educational growth while having a platform for communication throughout the program.

Why are we using Student Learning & Licensure?

The Educator Preparation Program collects data at various intervals on the knowledge, skills, dispositions, and professional growth of our students as they progress through their degree programs. Student Learning & Licensure provides the Educator Preparation Program with an effective way to collect this summative data, seek ways to improve our program, and show the alignment of state and federal education standards with our program(s).

While meeting accreditation standards, a goal of the EPP’s assessment system is to ensure that we provide our students with a high‐quality educational experience whereby graduates will be positioned to succeed as future educators.

Who needs Student Learning & Licensure?

All students in the Educator Preparation Program are required to submit assessments via Student Learning & Licensure. Student accounts are created through the Educator Preparation Program fees. Students will not be required to purchase a separate account. Cooperating Teachers/Mentors will be issued an account for assessment purposes. Instructor/University Supervisor accounts will be managed by Student Learning & Licensure Coordinator, Julie Alexander, jalexa61@utm.edu or 731‐881‐7214.

*NOTE: Not all courses will have an assessment in Student Learning & Licensure.

Please contact your instructor with questions related to assessments within the course.
